Templar Dagger

  • 22499

The Templars First formed as "THE POOR KNIGHTS OF CHRIST" to guard the passage of Pilgrims on the route to the Holy Land, they took as their symbol two knights mounted on a thin horse.  After the fall of Jerusalem to Christen forces in the First Crusade they took the Temple as their head quarters and the militant Monastic Order called themselves "THE POOR KNIGHTS OF THE TEMPLE OF JERUSALEM", which was soon shortened by other to simply "THE KNIGHTS TEMPLAR".

These deeply devoted Monks were known as fierce fighters when pitted against the "Infidels" of the region.  Fighting below a pure white banner to represent their purity and chastity or a white banner with the upper quarter black to also show the frailty of man, the Order grew into a powerful force across all of Europe.

The blade of this dagger is hand forged from 5160 carbon steel and hand tempered.  The blade is then securely peened onto the pommel.  The contoured handle is wood, wrapped in black leather. This dagger also includes a wood scabbard wrapped in brown leather with brass accents at the tip.
